Travel: BUDAPEST

My big sister just turned 26. For her birthday I bought her flights to go to Budapest. The summer had just come to an end in London and it seemed like the perfect time to go explore and find a bit of sun before winter truly came.

I love Budapest. The backdrop of the Buda hills, the dramatic river Danube running through the city and the beautiful architecture make it incredibly pretty. The chain bridges give the city a romantic vibe and the Jewish district brings rich history into the streets. It was my second time to the city and all the love I had felt the first time I visited came flooding back. Not to mention Budapest is also super fun, filled with ruin bars, more than 100 thermal baths and lots of sights to see, plus it is really cheap! What is not to love…

Here are some photographs of our weekend in Budapest. At the end you will find a list of the places I would recommend (bars, baths, sights etc.) if you are thinking about taking a trip to this amazing city.

London’s greatest workout = Project Awesome

Stumbling across Project Awesome a couple of months ago was one of the best discoveries I have made since living in London. My friend Sophie mentioned it to me and on a whim I thought I would give it ago, thinking it would probably be the first and last time I went. I try out a lot of different classes/fitness activities in London. A lot of them I check out and never return to and a few of them I enjoy and maybe go back to once or twice. The first Project Awesome I went to was on the 6th of july and I have pretty much been back every week since then…

Yes it is exercise and yes you have to wake up at 5:30 but it is so so worth it.

Travel: BERLIN

Berlin is effortlessly cool and always delivers. Visiting the city for the second time a couple of weeks ago I was reminded of that amazing energy which runs through the cities bars, parks, clubs and cafes.

Taking a few days away from my London teaching schedule I met my boyfriend in Berlin for a few days of fun…

Nordic Snapshots

Norway and I have a kind of love hate relationship. I am currently and firmly in the love stage.

Its beautiful nature, wooden cabins and outdoor lifestyle get me every time I visit.

The ‘scandiness’ of Oslo, the fresh air in the mountains and the fact that you feel one million miles away from the busyness of London makes me beyond happy.

Another major reason why I love Norway is that it is my boyfriends homeland. This makes it feel like my second home and when I arrive in Norway I feel at peace.

Last week I took a trip to Oslo and his cabinto visit my him and enjoy this wonderful land full of Nordic culture.

Here are some photographs from my time there.

Cornish Cliff Run

Everyone has a happy place, where you go and everything seems to slow down. All of your thoughts, worries and self doubts no longer seem to matter and you walk around with the biggest smile on your face for no reason at all.

For me that is Cornwall, I love its rugged cliffs, surf, beaches and its old english quirks.

One of my favourite things to do in Cornwall is to take to the costal paths for runs and long hikes. I wanted to share one of my running spots with you guys…

My Cornish Cliff Run

Beginning and ending in the old fishing and mining village of Portreath and running a circular route of 4.43 miles (7.1 km). It is hilly and hard work but the views and scenery make this by far my favourite run in England.

Manchester Magic

Somehow my best friend is still at university. She has worked the system the right way and is still enjoying her student years at the age of twenty three. Whilst my other two best friends and I have been slogging away in real “adult” jobs for the last two years. Growing up is a trap, right?

To be honest Elliott, Rosie and I all have pretty cool jobs and actually enjoy waking up on monday mornings, but we do miss Rose when she is away studying.

Rose goes to Manchester Uni and there are definitely some benefits of having your best friend in another city. We try and visit her as much as possible, which means getting out of London and exploring a new place. It feels like a holiday and we have the best time checking out new restaurants, bars and shops.

In March we decided to make the journey up north and spend a weekend together, exploring the delights of Manchester…
