SRI LANKA RETREAT 2018
Located in Ahangama, on the south coast of Sri Lanka.
Join us from the 22nd – 29th of September 2018. Awaken your spirit of adventure, find authenticity and connect to mother nature. An amazing 7 night once-in-a-lifetime yogic journey into the heart of magical Sri Lanka.
What to expect from the retreat
You will be living amongst nature in a one-off affordable setting that is both environmentally sustainable and socially conscious of the local community.
The safari tents allow you to escape into the jungle and truly connect to what is around you within you. You will sleep under the shooting stars, drifting off to the sounds of nature and ocean waves.
Have a life changing and totally different experience at the unique and incredibly idyllic Camp Poe.
The day will consist of two 90 minute yoga classes. Beginging the day with a dynamic vinyasa sequence and ending with a more playful, explorative/restorative yoga practice.
Alongside the physical practice, guests can experience pranayama (breathing exercises) and meditation.
Ro teaches Quantum Yoga which is a system of personal practice and optimization that uses vinyasa flow and Ayurvedic assessment. As Quantum physics itself has proven, any activity done with greater awareness has a more powerful transformative effect.
By bringing your attention into the the body-mind by the use of Ayurveda (Yoga’s “sister science” which recognizes your individual nature and helps find your true path on this earth), Ro’s classes leave you more harmonious, healthy, happy and in true balance with yourself and the now.
Each guest will be invited to find out their true nature or ‘Prakriti’ by doing an aryuvedic assessment at the beginning of the week. You will be encouraged to become more present and aware, thus allowing you to get the most out of your practice during the retreat and later during your yoga practice at home.
During the week we will also have Ben Stevenson as a guest teacher as well as sunset beach yoga session.
All practices are open to all levels from beginners to more advanced yogis.
Expect delicious, local, authentic and healthy Sri Lankan cuisine. Salads, healthy curries, local seafood and plenty of vegetarian options.
Surf lessons are available on request from the amazing teachers at Camp Poe.
If you are a confident surfer we can just arrange board rental for you.

In Sanskrit, ‘Samata’ means the state of equilibrium and balance. The core intention of the on-site healing centre is to support you in realising your innate Samata. This intention also runs throughout every aspect of the retreat centre.
All meals are crafted by head chef Tess Rosenbush from top quality, locally sourced, ethically produced organic foods and freshly picked herbs, veggies, and fruits from the vast organic on site garden.
THE HEALING CENTRE
Samata has its very own on site healing centre, which offers a wide variety of therapies, expert guidance, and an extensive herbal pharmacy to ensure your true wellness and enduring balance.
Samata offers spacious private suites and villas amidst abundant vegetation and paddy fields. The beautiful villas built entirely from reclaimed Teak wood and surrounded by large fruit and spice trees offer a range of accommodation from triple and simple single rooms through to large king size suites and twins, all with en-suite open-air bathrooms and air-conditioning. With a beautiful tear-drop shaped swimming pool, a one-acre organic farm, bountiful gardens, located just minutes from the golden beaches of North Goa, Samata is truly special.
Quantum Yoga is a method of personal practice optimisation, based largely on a creative vinyasa flow style of yoga, and using the wisdom of Ayurveda to create your ideal, optimised practice. It is a playful, authentic practice, which is suitable for all levels. Both Sally-Anne and Roanna like to inspire their students to try new and exciting postures, but also have a deep understanding of what it feels like to be a beginner on this exciting path of yoga. A safe and supportive environment is created for students to explore their practice. All yoga classes will take place in the stunning and well-equipped yoga shalas at Samata.
