May has been a wonderful month and I feel so grateful for all the opportunities I have been given. It has also been pretty busy so its nice to look back, take a moment and just remember the highlights. Reflecting back over the last 31 days there have been a few things which have stuck out as being particular favourites of mine.
One of my favourite experiences this month was having my boyfriend come and stay with me in London. Spending time with positive, inspirational and happy people is so important and Bendik is all of those things. I spent my first ever “Norway Day” with him and we had such a great day, something we will both remember for years to come!
Now on to my favourites…
I am dancer and a yogi and I believe every dancer should practice yoga. Don’t get me wrong I think dancers are taking full advantage of the postural side of yoga. I just that think they are missing out on the benefits that the spiritual aspects of the practice have to offer. I believe that practicing meditation and pranayama alongside asana practice could hugely benefit professional dancers.
This is why…
I love cooking, I find it therapeutic and a lot of fun when experimenting with flavours. However on a week night when I am rushed for time I will always go for something quick. No one has time to make a cauliflower pizza base on a week night, right?
I want my dinner to be healthy and nourishing but the preparation to be minimal.
This colourful quinoa bowl is all those things and more!
I SCREAM WE SCREAM WE ALL SCREAM FOR ICE CREAM.
Who said you can’t have dessert for breakfast!?
Well with this ice cream bowl you can have all the yummies of a dessert, eat it at 9.00am and feel completely guilt free…
This healthy take on ice cream is so incredibly smooth, creamy and chocolatey that you would never know it wasn’t the real deal. Apart from everything is wonderfully natural, it’s free of unnatural sugars, processed ingredients, animal products and chemicals so it will leave you feeling energised and glowing from the inside out. Instead of getting a massive sugar rush and crashing 10 minutes later!
This is one of my favourite breakfasts, it is fantastically sweet, creamy and delicious!
It is honestly heaven in a bowl and even if you don’t like bananas, don’t worry, for some reason (maybe the freezing) it doesn’t have that banana taste!
It is super easy to make and you only need four ingredients…
April has been the best month for me. I am absolutely loving teaching my yoga classes, I have met so many amazing yogis and the warm spring days (apart from the last week when it SNOWED!!!) have left me with hope and happiness that summer is on its way.
I love reading about other people’s favourites so I thought I would share some things I have been loving this month! It’s a mixed bag of things but I hope you like this little insight of what I have discovered and have been enjoying…
Being active and working out comes pretty easy to me, this may sound strange to some people out there, but honestly I just love moving my body and always have done. Okay, so obviously I do have my off days where I just want to sit and eat a whole pack of oreos but they are pretty rare.
From the age of four I was attending my local baby ballet, at primary school I had joined every athletic club going, and at home my sister and I would create obstacle courses around our garden pretty much every weekend.
There is something about being physical in whatever context, that has always made me feel good. Times have slightly changed and now my fitness routine is more organized; even though I wish my sister and I could still run around our garden to get fit and healthy bodies.
Everyone has a happy place, where you go and everything seems to slow down. All of your thoughts, worries and self doubts no longer seem to matter and you walk around with the biggest smile on your face for no reason at all.
For me that is Cornwall, I love its rugged cliffs, surf, beaches and its old english quirks.
One of my favourite things to do in Cornwall is to take to the costal paths for runs and long hikes. I wanted to share one of my running spots with you guys…
My Cornish Cliff Run
Beginning and ending in the old fishing and mining village of Portreath and running a circular route of 4.43 miles (7.1 km). It is hilly and hard work but the views and scenery make this by far my favourite run in England.
